Most local women here in the country, young and old alike, would like to have a whiter/lighter skintone than the normal filipina morena complexion. I keep asking myself why? Because personally I do like my morena look… I like myself being ‘kayumgangging-kaligatan’ filipina woman. I accept who I am, inside and out. But still the question remains, why do most women wanted to alter their looks? Just like how ‘pinays’ wanted to be white, western ladies would go to beaches and sleep their way to have a good tan… meaning to get darker. Maybe it’s what we call balance of nature. Where man by nature would always want what they do not have. Just like a simple example. A man wanting to would have ordered what the other man in the next table is having, than eat what he has already ordered that he thinks is what he wants to eat a few minutes ago. Men by nature cannot be satiated easily. We would want more after we have achieved or have gained what we hoped to have. It is very human nature to want more, to want another a lilttle more than what we just have. I cannot explain much why is that so, but what I believe is that, it is the way to express that a man is supposed to keep in living. By wanting more and more, men tend to live another day… and another… and another. Everyday, everytime. Makest eh world go round. Makes life reeling, makes life worth living.
Maybe next time I get to see women wanting to change their colors or moreso their looks and men wanting to rather have ordered what the other man in the next table has ordered, I will just brush it off my eyes and just shrug. And somehow try to understand that these people are just trying to live their lives, and go with the flow.
