friendship

Lucky. It’s one definition of someone who have actually found the bestfriend a person can hope for. Someone who is there not only to spend happy times with us, but more on our downest times. It is very rare for people to find a friend who is almost a brother or a sister to us, moreso is like us. Sometimes we mistakenly treat an acquaintance as a friend. An acquaintance is someone whom you barely know but have personally met and talked to for only several occasions nothing more. But having a real bestfriend whom you relate your secrets to, talk about how boring your day at work was up to your whining about a toothpaste you just bought from the store. Someone whom you share your thoughts or plans like you will do a lover. Sometimes we even entrust more to friends than our better-halves. It’s because they know who we really are, through the worst things we did to them and they still stood by us and still love us, that’s a friend to keep. I still remember my old high school friends, whom each of us treat one another as sisters. Helping each other not only on school works, but also going an extra mile to help familial problems. We have this private joke that goes like ‘if someone comes in my house and go straight to the fridge than holler to find me… you’re my friend alrite.’ It was silly when other people would know, but for us, it’s true. It’s our way of telling each other that you are welcome to come into my home anytime, no questions asked. And we did. We had great times, fun times, and times to treasure.

15years of friendship with them is a cherished thing for me. Though some have parted ways and walked miles aways from our hometown we still hold the bond intact. And those left makes it sure that we hold on. Constant communication and getting together is what makes the bond stronger. We all have our own families now and knowing that each of us still holds on to the bond, it keeps the friendship burn and alive.
